What Causes Delay In Menstruation Other Than Pregnancy?

Im worried why my period has been different the last three months. It was regular at the beginning/middle of April. Then it May, it was 8 days late on the 21st when i started to have what i thought was my period. It was abnormally light, lasted only 4 days and i didnt need to use a tampon/pad. Now its the 22nd of June with no period still. What should i do? I took four tests three weeks ago and they were all negative. What else could be causing this?

Hi,

A pregnancy test is reliably positive after 1-week delay in periods. You had scanty bleeding in April 21st.

Today is 22nd of May & you had 4 pregnancy tests -ve 3 weeks back. I feel you should repeat the test after 28th of May, if even that is -ve.

The delay & irregularity of menses can be thyroid, ovarian problems including PCOD. Diagnosis of the cause would be by jag scan of pelvis/thyroid function tests or ovarian hormonal assay.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
