What Causes Delay In Menstruation?

I am currently taking orthotrycylclin lo birth control pills and i recently had a child on june 14th. I have been back on the pill since july. My period was due about 1-2 days ago. I took a home pregnancy test and it came up negative quite quickly and clearly. Is it normal for my period to be late and what are the chances of pregnancy right now?
