What Causes Delay In Periods After A Surgical Abortion?
Hi Doc, I am residing in india. I had a surgical abortion on 1st november which was at 7 weeks. I had normal bleeding for 2-3 days after the abortion. Since then i havent had my periods. Can u please tell me till when i can get my periods. Its already been 40 days. Is there any medicine that will help me bring back the periods. I am pretty stressed out. Kindly help.
Your periods should return within 4 to 8 weeks of your abortion. How much time elapses before you get your first post-abortion period depends, in part, on the duration of pregnancy. Pregnancy hormones may remain for a few weeks afterwards, causing a delay in menstruation. In case of absent bleeding more than 8 weeks or normal cycle do not occur even after 3 months, it is essential to visit your gynaecologist.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
