What Causes Delay In Periods And Abdominal Pain?

Hi doctor,
I am 25 yrs unmarried want to delay my perids and my cyle is of 23 days. I am already taking sysron n tablet twice a day since last three days as my expected date is of today. However I am having abdominal pain.
Will it help?
Please advise me

Hi,
I understand your concern.
* Sysron is a progesteron containing drug used for oral contraception. It is also used for postponement of periods.
You are already taking the pill for postponement of periods-& you have pain.
This pain is due to postponement of periods , which causes increased retention of the blood collected in uterus which leads to congestion & pain.
- Please don't worry- take the pills as you are taking, till you want the delay to be.
- Avoid excessive physical/psychological stress in these days- for they can lead to hormonal disturbance & bleeding.
* Always take pills for postponement with doctor's advise only.
Standard dose for postponement is 1 tablet 3 times a day three days prior to expected day of menses.
