What Causes Delay In Periods And Dizziness While On Metformin?

I have been taking metformin 500mg since late 2014. The dose was doubled in March of this year. I have had regular cycles and ovulation according to my medical team until this time. I am over two weeks late. I feel sick all the time dizzy and irritable more than normal. Could it be pregnancy or just long lasting PMS?

Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.

Based on the history you have shared, you need to get your beta HCG done to rule out pregnancy and if it's negative then get an ultrasound pelvis done to look for ovarian cysts as you may be suffering from a polycystic ovarian disease that is causing an irregular cycle.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
