What Causes Delay In Periods And Fatigue Despite Having A Tubal Ligation?

I am 41 years old. I am 6 days late for my period. I average a cycle that I keep track of. Every 24-27 days I start. it last 7-9 days. I had tubal ligation so I couldn t be pregnant. Im overly tired and gained at least 8 pounds this month. I am also extremely emotional.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Tubal ligation is a definitive contraception method so you cannot be pregnant.

I would suggest you check your thyroid hormone levels because Hypothyroidism can lead to fatigue, weight gain and also irregular menstrual cycles.

Consult an endocrinologist and get done TSH, T4 and T3.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
