What Causes Delay In Periods Despite Having Negative UPT?

My period is around a week late so I decided to take a pregnancy test and it came out negative so I decided to take more because I still haven t gotten my period. Is it possible for them to be false negative? what would be the most sure way to find out?

I really appreciate your concern, if the pregnancy need to be ruled out for sure then ultrasonography is the best option you have else other test could be false negative or positive hope this information helps.
