General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi User! There can be various causes of delay in period apart from the pregnancy. Other causes include hormonal imbalances which may be due stress as well. However, some may also have irregular periods at around the time of menopause which means the cessation of menstrual cycle in women for which the average age is around 50 years but some may experience it a few years earlier or later. It would be recommended to look for other symptoms and to see the gynecologist once to get examined and evaluated thoroughly.
