What Causes Delay In Periods Despite Of Negative UPT?

Hi.I have sort of a sensitive question. I have not had my period for almost 3 months. I have taken two tests both negative. I changed my diet and Exercise. Could that be the reason?Just this weekend I was woken up by terrible terrible cramps. It was really harsh. I had to wake my boyfriend up cause of it. I have the same symptoms of when I am about to start my cycle. But then nothing. What should I do? What do you recommend?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I can understand your concern.Delay in periods could be due to various reasons like Anemia or Hormonal imbalance(Hypo or Hyperthyroidism).
If i were your treating doctor,i would perform certain tests to rule out the cause. As of now,you may need to consult a gynaecologist to get examined thoroughly and to get the cause for delayed periods ruled out.
Hope my advise is helpful to you.
I wish you good health.
