What Causes Delay In Periods?

I'm one week and a day late with my period. I took 5 at home test and one test at the hospital, they all came out negative. I don't know whats going on with me.....I'm never late and this is the first time I've been this late. I also stopped birth control a month ago so I'm not sure if this is the cause.
