What Causes Delayed And Light Menstrual Bleeding?

I was late for my period for almost a week, I took two home pregnancy tests and both were negative. I just today got a period today which consisted of mainly small blood clots with little blood. I normally bleed a lot during a normal cycle and I m just wondering what is going on?

hi healthcare magic user, this type of period pattern could be due to hormonal imbalance.
please get evaluated for cause.
most common cause for delayed periods is pregnancy but if it is negative.
it could be due to ovarian cyst or thyroid problem.
please get a pelvic ultrasound done and hormonal profile.
