What Causes Delayed Menstrual Periods And Hot Flashes?

hi, i was told by my doctor that my fsh level was 118 , that I was in the post menapausal range, i am 44yrs old, 2wks ago i started having several hot flashes a day, last menstrual period 2mths ago, lasting a day only. would an ultrasound help to diagnose this?
