Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I got pregnant for the first time in April 2015, got a DNC done while I was 4 weeks pregnant due to personal reasons. At the time of my first periods (one month after), there was only cramping and no bleeding. The same thing happened in the second month also. I am running in my 3rd month now. When we consulted a doctor, she prescribed Regestrone 5mg to me and said that after 5 days of dosage, periods should start within 7 days. She also prescribed Nutrient supplement Well woman for 1 month (which I am still taking). Its been more than 15 days and no periods happened to me. Can you please diagnose the case in detail along with a remedy.
Regestrone when taken for 5 to 10 days will cause withdrawal bleeding in most women within 5 to 7 days of stopping the drug. When bleeding does not resume after Regestrone, hormonal imbalance should be suspected.
You may be required to continue the hormonal treatment for a few more days in order to adjust your hormone levels. I would suggest you to consult with your doctor. Avoid stress and take adequate nutrition.
Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss
