What Causes Delayed Period After Taking Levonelle Followed By Unprotected Sex?
Hi. I am using microgynon 30, two pills were missed in the final week and I had unprotected sex on the 3rd day off the pill (typically the day before my period usually starts). I sought advice on whether to take emergency contraception and was advised yes so took levonelle within 14 hours. It is now 2 days later and my period has not started. I can only find information concerning when your period should start if it is not due immediately. When should I expect it and when should I think about a pregnancy test? Thank you in advance.

As the Levonelle pill was consumed after 14 hours of unprotected sex, there may be remote chances of pregnancy though not high. The menses or withdrawal bleed is usually expected within next 48 to 72 hours of pill intake. However, one can wait for a more couple of days for the same and if needed consult OBGYN for the further guidelines of care.
