What Causes Delayed Period After Taking Emergency Contraceptive Pill?

Hi, I am over a month late for my period and am quite worried. My periods are never regular anyway and I have missed months before but i had unprotected sex and took emergency contraception within the 72 hour time slot. After taking the emergency contraception I bled for about 3 days but I thought this was a side effect of the contraception. Is there a chance that was my period? I took two pregnancy tests and both came back negative but I have tender breasts and have gained a bit of weight

I suggest you do some tests which can reveal what is going on.

1. Beta HCG test
2. Do USG Lower Abdomen after 1 month of Last Period.
3. Urinary and serum follicle-stimulating hormone

I would also like to ask:

1. is there nausea, vomiting?
2. is there urinary complaints?

That bleeding about 3 days may be due to period or maybe contraception. Most probably, it may due to contraception.

The pregnancy test is based on HCG (which I gave you again to quantify in a lab setting), if it is negative, it is most likely that you are out of pregnancy. But to be sure, I gave the above tests.

Please post along with the results and answers. There are good doctors here (even gynecologists) who can follow you up.
