What Causes Delayed Period Along With Acne On Face?

Hi. So I haven t started my period yet but my boyfriend and I are VERY safe. I ve been on lots of different birth control s since I was about 15 to help with my bad periods and finally in January I started Minastrin which made my periods amazing. In January I had a 5 day period. In February I had 3 periods, each for about 2-3 days. In March and April my periods were about 2 days long. And I had my last period in May which lasted a day. So I am thinking maybe this has all just been a sign to show me my periods were coming to a stop? Because like i said my boyfri fb and I are very safe. We use a condom every time, I am on birth control and take it like I should and he pulls out to finish. I have no pregnancy symptoms but am having period symptoms such as acne, which I never get unless it s about to be that time of the month. I am very concerned about whether or not I could be pregnant.

Hello,

Any delay in the periods warrants a urinary pregnancy test. Even though you are trying to be very cautious against pregnancy, unfortunately, almost no contraception method offers 100% protection.

So, it is safer to have a urinary pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy.
If you are not pregnant but you have irregular periods and acne, you may need to be checked for PCOS (polycystic ovarian disease). This is a condition in which there is a disbalance of the hormones produced, which results in acne, irregular periods and in some patients even obesity.

You will need a good physical examination with your doctor and also a check of testosterone levels in the blood.

I hope this gives some answers to your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
