What Causes Delayed Period And Brown Vaginal Bleeding?

I put my Nuva ring in the day my period started (continued to have a very light period like normal) but at some point in the week it must have broke and came out. I took a plan b pill while still on my period just to be safe because I have no idea when it came out could have been up to 5 days it could have been out, but I still took the pill anyway. I have now been bleeding lightly with brown coloring also for almost 2 weeks. Could I still be pregnant?

Hello,

I don't think you are pregnant because you were using emergency pill together with Nuvaring. The emergency pill is highly effective but can cause irregular periods and bleeding or spotting may be due to its usage.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
