What Causes Delayed Period While On Antidepressant?

i recently was prescribed a perscription (anti depressant)
i am sexually active
and i am on the pill
i have taken 3 sugar pills and still not got my period
is this due to the perscription?
i got my period normally last month
but i have got my period normally on other prescriptions

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Some antidepressants are known to cause amenorrhea. Drugs like Amisulpiride, some TCA drugs are known to result in increased prolactin concentration and this results in delay of periods, galactorrhea etc symptoms. You have not mentioned the drug in your question but yes the drug could be the reason for the delay in your periods. Consult your doctor if periods dont resume.
