What Causes Delayed Period With Light Spotting?

Hi, Last month my menstruation cycle was suppose to come on the 14th but instead I had bleeding on the 16th but there was only blood when I went to the bathroom and wiped, it was not enough for me to wear a pad. I had a pantyliner on but it was never soaked. This month my menstruation cycle was to come on the 13th and still nothing and its 10 days now that its late, could I be pregnant or is there something else wrong. I'm to scared to do a pregnancy test incase its negative and then I get disappointed again.
