hi..doctor my periods date was on 4 june.. bt till now i have nt got my periods... on 8 june i had sex with my partner without precautions bt within 2 hours i took the pill... till yesterday i was getting a yellowish discharge.. today in the morning i found littke drops of blood... bt still i am nt having periods...plzz suggest me.. my age is 21 yrs

Hello,

Since you had penetrative sex with your partner without any protection and have taken emergency contraceptive pills within 72 hours you shouldn't be pregnant. However, if you are spotting and not getting periods properly you should get pregnancy tests done to rule out pregnancy.

In case you have negative test reports then get examined by a gynecologist, it can be due to hormonal imbalance, thyroid issues, obesity, PCOS, anemia, stressful lifestyle, etc. You will be required to go through few blood and imaging tests so that the treatment can be started. In the meantime, you should take food rich in iron, calcium, minerals and proteins. Take adequate sleep. Avoid stress and anxiety.
