What Causes Delayed Periods After Finishing Contraceptive Pills?

Hi. I just finished my 1 pacl of 21 contraceptive pills. I m on my 4th day free pill and still got no menstruation. My husband release his sperm on me on the 2nd day of my 7-day free pill. I would like to know if there is a possibility that I can be pregnant? Thanks.

Hello,

Oral contraception has a high protection index against pregnancy but is not 100%. Thus, it is advisable to have a pregnancy test to make sure.
if the test comes out negative then just start the new pill (of the new pack) when it is its due time, even if periods do not come. It happens sometimes that periods may come late or not at all when on contraception. This is ok as long as you rule out pregnancy with pregnancy test.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
