What Causes Delayed Periods After Taking Duphaston?
Hi, I have taken duphaston 10 mg for 5 days as I missed my period fr the frst time....my periods r always regular....today is 11 th day aftr I left taking dosage bt still I didn't get my period....can u suggest me wen i can expect n why it's still late....wt shld I do next????
Generally period will come 5 to 7 days after stopping duphaston. Absence of period 11 days after the stopping pill is not normal. It could be due to pregnancy (if you have unprotected sexual intercourse in fertile phase of period), hormonal imbalance, PCOD, endometriosis, adenomyosis, thyroid dysfunction.
I would suggest to go for urine pregnancy test and or blood HCG test to confirm the pregnancy. Also consult gynecologist and undergo examination, reproductive and thyroid hormone analysis, USG scan and ovarian follicle study to confirm the cause. Period can be induced by extra high dose of progesterone under advise of gynecologist. Other specific treatment will depend on cause and test result. Avoid stress, take healthy diet, drink plenty of water, do regular exercise.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Sagar
