What Causes Delayed Periods After Taking Primolut N?
My period was in 2nd march...but i am having 22 days period cycle so it could be falled on 24th feb. I took primoult n on 23,24,25,26 feb to extend my cycle for family function, till today I haven t got my period. My age is 35 years, having 2 kids 5 years and 2 years old. Please let me know what could be the reason of delay in period.
Primolut-N contains norethisterone, which is a man-made version of progesterone, a female sex hormone. Your body’s progesterone levels will drop if the ovum is not fertilized, and hence prepare your body to discharge the ovum and uterine lining (which will lead to your period), so taking norethisterone will prevent this from happening, as it keeps progesterone levels artificially high, hence delaying your period.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma,
