What Causes Delayed Periods Along With Sore Breasts?

Hi, I have a question about my very late period. I am(was) 24 days late. I just went to the bathroom and have bright red watery blood. I have taken at least 15 digital tests all negative. Yesterday morning was my last test. I am unsure as to what this means. Am I starting my period? Mild cramps, sore breasts, very lethargic and generally tired.

Pregnancy tests detect the HCG hormone. This is normally detectable by day 11 to 14 of pregnancy, if this time frame has passed, then the test is accurate.

If the test was done earlier than the 11 to 14 days, then it should be repeated.

It is possible that your period is coming based on the symptoms mentioned.

There are other causes of delayed period: (1) polycystic ovarian syndrome
(2)emotional stress or illness
(3)abnormal levels of thyroid hormone
(4)physical illness
(5)high levels of prolactin hormone
(6)side effect of medication
(7)inadequate diet
(8)excess physical activity

History, physical examination, bloods and imaging may be needed to find the cause for you.
Imaging would be an ultrasound.
