What Causes Delayed Periods Along With Vaginal Spotting And Sore Breasts?
I was suppose to get my period yesterday. The last three days I have had a very light bleed that last for about an hour or two then goes away. Last week my breast hurt very bad which is not a normal pms symptom for me, and I just felt very odd. I am on the patch but changed it late one week. I did take a pregnancy test that came back negative. Is this something to be concerned about?

Hi,
Some times period irregularity is there with all hormonal contraceptive methods including hormonal patch. This irregularity may be shortened or prolonged, light or heavy periods, irregular bleeding or vaginal spotting etc. Also, as you are already late in changing your patch, this may also cause irregularity in your periods.
Fortunately, these effects on periods are not usually worrisome and are self limiting within some time. Also, you took home pregnancy test, which is negative. Hence, hope, that these symptoms, including breast symptoms will subside themselves shortly.
