Hello,
As per my clinical experience, the thick discharge with delayed periods and cramps suggest possible bacterial infection most likely with secondary
hormone imbalance. This does not sound to be
pregnancy symptoms in usual cases as home
pregnancy tests are negative also support the same. The primary guidelines for better recovery are:
- Drink more liquids
- Vaginal hygiene with antiseptic liquid or soap
Sitz bath with lukewarm water added epsom salt
- Avoid sex and tries to conceive at present till recovery and normalization of menses cycle
- Prescription antibiotic such as Metronidazole
- Anti-spasmodic medicine as
Drotaverine hydrochloride or Dicyclomine
with
mefenamic acid after meals if no history of drug sensitivity
- Hormone preparations as combined OC pills for a period of 3-5 days, the stoppage of which will give withdrawal bleeding
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
