What Causes Delayed Periods And Frequent Urination?

I am 48, never been pregnant and now am a bit freaked out I might be. It s been almost 8 weeks since the first day of my last period. I am pretty much on schedule and have always been. Have taken 4 at home tests. All negative. One 2 weeks ago , 2nd one last week 3 yesterday and today the 4! All the same kind. Is there still a chance I could be? The only thing I am noticing that is different is I have been having to urineateing a lot the past few days? Which happens when I usually am about to start my menstural cycle? Are the urine testes given at a clinic any different? Better read? Thanks

Hello,

Commonly frequent urination is a symptom of UTI, but it can also occur due to hormonal imbalance or some developing kidney problem.

If you had protected intercourse while on regular contraceptive pills, you shouldn't get pregnant but if you were not on regular contraceptive pills, had unprotected intercourse or did not take Emergency CP within 72 hours than there can be chances of pregnancy.

Since you have a history of delayed periods for 8 weeks, you are having frequent urination, you should get a pregnancy test done with your first-morning mid-stream urine in the laboratory.

Sometimes, too much urination prior to testing may cause delay in your first positive result. Frequent urination is a sign of early pregnancy. Visit a gynae, get physically examined.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
