What Causes Delayed Periods And Negative Pregnancy Test?

hi, i really need some answers. I m 25 years old. i got my last period on 2nd april 2011. i ve got a longer cycle. I mean my periods are always 7-10 days late. So when i didnt get my periods around 15th may, i did a blood test for pregnancy and it was negative. The doc gave me duphaston for 10 days, 2 times a day and said i d get my periods once i stop having them. today is the fourth day since i stopped having duphaston, and still haven t gotten the periods. my main question is, is there a chance i m pregnant now? can you get pregnant while taking duphaston?? since in may i didnt get the periods, can my both ovaries be ovulating recently? i m really confused..please explain me something. Thanks.

HELLO dear
I understand your problem , dear there are many causes for delayed periods like polycystic disease, stress , hormonal imbalance, adrenal disorder etc. You should wait for one week atleast for withdrawl bleeding and most probably you are not ovulating because ovulatory cycles are regular while anovulatory cycles are irregular , For confirmation of ovulation you can can go for ultrasound on DAY 16- DAY 18 or you can test by urinary LH kit. If cycles are anovulatory you can have oral pills for 3 cycles which regularise your cycle and also provide contraceptive effect
