What Causes Delayed Periods And Tiredness?

Hi doc. I am worried. I am sexually active but it is always protective. Now, my menstruation was 17days delayed. Tried 4 home pregnancy tests and all was negative. I went to an OB and she prescribed me duphaston 2x a day for 7days. On my 7th day, I got my period (that was yesterday). So today is my 2nd day but my period is still little. I m worried. Is this normal or are there any chance that I m pregnant? Thank you so much.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Delayed period and tiredness is due to hormonal imbalance as pregnancy test was negative.
Better to go for blood HCG and USG scan to confirm the pregnancy as it is accurate.
Period can be light and excessive due to the duphaston.
Bleeding may be increased in next days.
So it is normal in absence of the pregnancy.
Avoid stress, take healthy diet and do regular exercise.
Other cause of hormonal imbalance like ovarian cyst, fibroid, endometriosis, thyroid dysfunction should be rule out by consulting the gynecologist.
Hope this may help you
