What Causes Delayed Periods In Spite Of Taking Birth Control?

On August 8th I briefly had unprotected sex (no ejaculation), on the Monday I took a morning after pill. A few days later, I got my period and went on the pill on the same time. I finished my course of the pill around mid sept and havent had a period since. Is this normal?
