What Causes Delayed Periods Other Than Pregnancy?

Hello,I'm concerned because i took a home pregnancy test like four weeks before my period came and i still haven't gotten my period and the test said negative should i check again? i haven't gotten any symptoms of early pregnancy . And I'm scared because i really don't know if i am or not .
