What Causes Delayed Periods Post Expiry Date Of Implanon?

My implanon was due to be taken out in June (the three year mark) but heard it lasts longer. I have been having regular periods (never late) this entire last year and half l, that I ve been tracking and I never had a cease of my period the entire time. I took a home pregnancy test the day I missed my period, and two days after. Both were negative. I am now you days late, still no period. Could I be pregnant?

Hello dear
Understand your concern.

Implanon is type of long-acting reversible contraception, the most effective form of birth control.
It inhibits the ovulation and implantation.
The failure rate of Implanon is only 0.05% .

Common side effects of implanon are below:
Irregular bleeding and spotting: Delayed period, dysmenorrhoea
weight gain:
Ovarian cysts
Acne

So I think it may be withdrawal side effects.
Wait ofr 4-5 days for period to come.
or
To confirm pregnancy by
1. Urinary HCG kit method: 7 days after missed period
2. Blood HCG level: most specific ,after ovulation
3. USG abdomen
Hope this may help you/
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
