Hello,

Because your bleeding is 10 days later than the due date for the menstrual cycle, I would advise you to have a urinary pregnancy test. If the test is negative then you are just having a late period.

Generally, the day of the ovulation is calculated in cases of regular periods so this time it may not be accurate as you had delayed bleeding. Normally ovulation happens 14 days before the due date of the next cycle. For instance, if you expect your periods on the 20th of the next month, the ovulation should be around the 6th of that month.

I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
