What Causes Delayed Periods Post Unprotected Sex?

my girlfriends last period ended on December 24th and on December 26th we decided to have sex without a condom on for the first time just to see how it felt. every other time we have had sex, it s with a condom on. we only did it for about 10 seconds at the most without a condom on and before I stuck it in I made sure nothing was coming out. well ever since then, she hasn t had her period. her periods are always inconsistant too. she also told me about how a lot of discharge comes out before a girls period starts and she had that happen 6 days ago. I m just scared and wanted to hear what you had to say about it.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Conception or pregnancy takes place during ovulation and few days before and after ovulation.
Ovulation takes place 14 days prior to onset of menstrual cycle whether the cycle is regular or irregular.
In a regular 28-30 day cycle, ovulation takes place mid-way of a cycle taking first day of menstruation as first day of menstrual cycle.
Thus, in any case conception is not possible 1-2 days after end of menstrual cycle.
In an irregular menstrual cycle, probable date of ovulation can be determined by observing the menstrual cycle for 6-8 months, monitoring basal body temperature, monitoring cervical mucus etc.
Regarding estimation of basal body temperature and cervical mucus, you may consult a gynecologist for details so as to how to estimate your most probable ovulation date.
However, your partner is not at risk of pregnancy since the unprotected intercourse is done 1-2 days after the end of menstrual cycle.
The delay in menstrual cycle is not due to pregnancy.

Thanks and take care
