What Causes Delayed Periods Post Withdrawal From Primolut-N?

HI iam shathi happily married women. My mentural period is on jan 16, 2016 last month. but before 13,14,15,16 of jan2016 i have gtaken primolut -n tablet of 5mg . after that from 17th jan 2016 i have stopped taking that tablet. but till now i did not get period. Did iam pregnent? and is there any problem for my baby that i have taken that tablet

Hello dear
Understand your concern.
Primolout N contain synthetic progesterone.
Wait for 2-3 days.
Bleeding will come.
Yes It can cause congenital anomalies in fetus in some case.
So if you are pregnant you should require close follow up under USg

Menstruation required co ordinate action of various hormone that secreted by ovary (estrogen and progesterone) and brain (FSH and LH).
If any above hormone is decreased or increased there is imbalance in menstruation.

Primolout N cause hormonal imbalance and that is the reason for irregular menstruationas a side effects.

Following are common side effects:
headaches, nausea, irregular bleeding,
fluid retention, dizziness,
weight gain and depressed mood,
either sleepiness or insomnia,
bloating, a decreased or increased sex drive,
discomfort of the breasts.


Wait for 1-2 days more.
Bleeding will come.
If not come, Consult to gynecologist and do hormonal profile and USG
