What Causes Delayed Periods, Pressure And Bloating In Lower Abdomen?
Hello? I ve been on birth control since middle school. It s been 7 years and I recently stopped taking because I missed a period so I freaked out (sexually active now.) I ve missed 4 cycles by now, I m having pressure and bloating in my lower abdomen. I ve taken 3-4 pregancy tests as they ve been either negative or inconclusive. I m curious what s going on...
Hi, I suggest that you take a blood test or do an ultrasound so that the possibility of a pregnancy can be ruled out completely. If its a negative tests, then this is likely to be occurring due to hormonal imbalance. Either way, the ultrasound will give you a better idea and rule out cysts etc. Consult your doctor for medicines to get your period, if the tests all rule out pregnancy.
If at all pregnancy is ruled out, then he cause for your menstrual irregularities and symptoms is clearly your birth control. But your sexual activity is indeed a question that requires further clarifications.
Pressure and abdominal bloating (gastric symptoms) are also quite often experienced with hormonal imbalances, and so this hormonal imbalance could be brought about by either pregnancy or just the birth control. Stress also attributes to a hormonal imbalance, and so it would be best to visit a doctor and first rule out pregnancy with the help of a serum test.
Best wishes.
