What Causes Delayed Periods When On Progesterone Cream?

I am a 47 yo female with estrogen dominance, severe pmdd. My Dr prescribed progesterone cream (80mg/ml), but to start using it on day 3 instead of the usual ovulation day. Said he would like for me to have it already well into my system before ovulation occurs to prevent severe symptoms. So I did that,.... I still haven t ovulated and no period yet, and I m on day 46.... I am miserable. I stopped the cream a week ago hoping it would bring menstruation on... but now I don t know if that was wise.. can you advise?.. should I restart the cream?.... Thank you in advance....

hi healthcare magic user, since you are 46 years unfortunately you are near menopause so your premenstrual symptoms will stop with the menses If I would have been your doctor . I would have awaited for period and must have asked you for urine pregnancy test. if it is negative then given tablet Duphaston to get period and must have asked you for maintaining menstrual calendar.
