What Causes Delayed Periods While On Losartan?

Hi i am quite worried. I have been on Loestrin 20 pill for 3 months and took one pill 10 hours late but a pill isnt considered late until 12 hours plus i waited 7 days after to have sex. I used a condom but it broke so i took the morning after pill. In my 7 day break i had a heavy 4 day bleed which was longer than my first period in the first month. On the last pack of pills, i had protected sex and was fine, but im now on my 7 day break and i havent had my period ? I have been stressed for quite a while worrying im pregnant, could i be stressed and not getting my period, my body reacting to the pill or pregnancy?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You had an irregularity during your 2nd course of pills, you were late in taking a pill by 10 hours, waited for a week to overcome any harm, used a condom during sex to avoid pregnancy, it was brown so you took morning after pill, you continued with the remaining pills from the 2nd pack and had a heavy bleeding in the 7 days break, which I believe was due to withdrawal bleeding due to morning after pill.

After the 3rd month of oral contraceptive course, you are yet to get bleeding during your 7 days break and you are worried about the pregnancy, this can be due to-
-A hormonal imbalance caused by use of monthly pills and also emergency morning after pill along with it. Morning after pill tends to delay monthly period by 8-10 days .
-Psychological stress of being pregnant might add to the hormonal imbalance to cause delay in periods.
