What Causes Delayed Periods While On Novelon?

My wife takes Novelon regulating the intervals of her menstrual periods. When doctors have recommended using this medicine regularly, once one doctor advised her not to use Novelon for a month after using it continuously for a year, so that she can have a gap before continuing the dose again for another year. Now it is the second time she gave a gap for a month in the usage of this medicine. But her menstrual period did not start even after 10 days of the expected date. Last year one Gynecologist advised her Duphaston under this condition to accelerate the start of her period. May I know whether it will be safe for her to take Duphaston again this time to accelerate the start of her menstrual period?

Thanks for the query.I understand your concern.
She can take duphaston again to induce the cycle.BUT....
If you want to regulate menstrual cycle for child bearing purpose.... you shoulď get investigated to find thd cause of irregularity (PCOD,thytoid problem,ovarian problems, few othrs)&then get spevific treatment.
