What Causes Delayed Periods While On Omeprazole?

Hi, I ve been prescribe to take Omeprazole for bad heartburn and stomach issues. I ve only been on it for almost a month. I never have issues with my period come on every 28 days. All of a sudden now I ve been taking this med my period is 5 days late. I ve been given a pregnancy test and it came back negative. Can Omeprazole effected my menstration cycle?

Hello! In generaly Omeprazol does not affect your menstrual cycle. But it can lead in low Magnesium level. Maybe this is the reason of your problem. I recommend you to take mineral suplements(Magnesium, Potasium etc) during takeing Omeprazol. I wish you all the best!
