What Causes Delayed Periods While On Ovranette?

Hi, I am currently on the pill (ovranette) I took my last pill on Tuesday and normally my period starts within 3 days. It still hasn t started and I am due to start retaking my pill on Wednesday. I have a 5 month old baby and have been on the pill for the last 3 months with no problems. I took a pregnancy test today but it was negative. Is there a chance I could still be pregnant?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns . Usually the periods start within 2-3 days of stopping the oral contraceptives, however sometimes it can get delayed upto 7-10 days.
Chances of pregnancy when one is on oral contraceptives is 0.1% which is very low.
Moreover, if the urine pregnancy test is negative, the chance of pregnancy is not there.
I would suggest you to wait for one week, if the periods still don't come, then do consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated and treated accordingly.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
