Hi I have been taking Regesterone tablets from 20th May until June 11th. Mine is a 28 day regular heavy bleed cycle. My LMP was 15th May and my periods is expected on 11th May. i did not get it still . I checked for pregnancy , It showed negative. I am 31 yrs old and waiting to get pregnant . Pleasehelp
Delayed periods while on Regesterone can be due to hormonal imbalance, PCOS, fertility or thyroid issues, etc. Regesterone is a synthetic hormone and has its own side effects. Since your pregnancy test is negative, you can wait for a couple of days and repeat pregnancy test with the first morning mid stream urine. If it is again negative, you are suggested to get clinically examined by a gynecologist.
Irregular periods, delayed periods, missing periods or spotting can be due to factor like poor general health condition, anemia, sleep disturbance, weight issues, etc. Your treating doctor will recommend you to go through a series of blood tests, urinalyses and imaging tests to assess and evaluate so that the treatment can be started at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
