What Causes Delayed Periods While On Birth Control Pills?

I m on birth control and was supposed to start my period 2 days ago I had sex a week ago but I ve taken 4 pregnancy test that have told me negative. Is there something wrong with my system? I havent had any symptoms of pregancy. No tender breasts no throwing up haven t been tired to the point that I wanna crash just my normal tired. The only out of the ordinary thing is my stomach has been fairly active. What else can I do to find out what s going on?

Hello Dear. Birth control pills will cause hormonal variations and can cause delay in the periods. Wait for another week to see if your period returns back. If it doesnt you can get Urine pregnancy test(UPT) done. Sometimes UPT can give false positive or false negative results. Please consult a gynecologist who will do Ultrasonography of the abdomen to visualize for fetal sac inside the uterus. That will give a conclusive evidence as to whether you are pregnant or not.
