What Causes Delayed Periods While Suffering From PCOS?

My period is late for almost 20 days and am not pregnant as i took 4 pregnancy tests and it all came out negative, i have pco s and I normally get my period in 45 days max , now its more than two months, I went to the doctor and he gave me norcutin pills and i took them for 5 days 3 times a day and now ita two days and i still didn t get my period, am so stressed because of this please advise me on what to do .

Hi I think in PCO patients, there is absence of ovulation which leads to delayed periods. You have taken progesterone for inducing periods. It can take 10 to 14 days for periods to come after stopping the tablet. If periods don't come after that, you can take a combination of oestrogen and progesterone for inducing periods. Get a thyroid profile and prolactin level done. If you want to get pregnant, you can try ovulation induction with timed intercourse. Talk to your doctor regarding this. Hope it helps.
