What Causes Delayed Periods With Abdominal Cramps After Removing Nuvaring?

I m currently using the nuvra ring for birth control. I removed my ring on 1/18/15 and still have not received my period. Last month I forgot to take it out a couple days late so I got my period late. But I put my ring back in on time. I took 1 home pregnancy test in December which was negative. I have also taken 3 this month since I was suppose to get my period around the 24th. I have some abdominal cramping and low back pain. I don t have a regular doc since I m currently being seen at the VA. I can t just call them and get in right away for an appointment. Not sure What to do.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The use of hormonal contraception can sometimes be associated with changes in the menstrual cycle.

Pregnancy tests can detect pregnancy by day 11 to 14 after conception so if they were done in this time period, the results are accurate and you are not pregnant and you can continue the contraception and monitor.
If they were done earlier than this time frame then pregnancy should be considered.

I hope this helps
