What Causes Delayed Periods With Abdominal Cramps?
I am 41 years old and in May I had my period toward the beginning of the month and then two weeks later had another. Then in June I didn t have a period at all. Now this month for about the past week and a half I have been having craps in my right side near my ovary but still no period. I have been staying really hot and sweating and that really isn t normal for me. In 2001 I had to have a cone shaped knife removal of my cervix but all paps have been normal afterwards. I don t believe I could be pregnant because my live in boyfriend of 7 years was clipped 16 years ago and I have never missed a period the whole time and I haven t used other BC in about 5 years after issues with an IUD. Should I be concerned?
Hello, Thanks for writing to us. I have gone through your query and understood the concern. Your symptoms suggest some hormone imbalance. Though you are not old enough to be in the perimenopause, hormone levels should be checked to clarify. Also, a trans-vaginal sonogram is to be done to know the status of the pelvic organs. If no pathology is detected, hormone course can be given to induce a period and thereafter to regularize the cycles. Maintenance of a healthy lifestyle is also important. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you good health.
