What Causes Delayed Periods?

I have a very regular period, 26 day cycle. Ive only had a late period once and it was due to a lack of sleep because I was sick. My period is now 3 days late & I keep getting negative pregnancy urine tests. Should I keep testing or go to the doctor ? I haven t had any of my normal period symptoms either and nothing in my daily life has changed.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Delayed menstruation can be related to stress and other physiological changes sometimes. It is normal to have periods delayed by couple of days. I would suggest you wait for few days and then take another pregnancy test if that comes negative. After that visit a gynecologist regarding the same. She will guide you with further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
