What Causes Delayed Periods?

My last period was on july 19 lasted 4 days so I suppose to get my period the 16 of these month so by my calculations im 2 days late about to be 3 so i took a test and it came negative and by the way i have a cold not that bad can that be a cause of me not getting my period

In my opinion you need to repeat the test after a week to know about pregnancy. Even due to increased stress and low hemoglobin levels periods may get delayed. You need to consult your doctor to rule out other possible causes of delayed periods.
