General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
thanks for trusting HCM with your worry,
irregular menses is a common phenomenom within the early years after onset of menses. in such cases, its not due to an underlying disease but due to the immaturity of the reproductive system.
When it occurs out of the that period, thorough investigation is needed. Pregnancy is a common cause of delayed menses and in the event where there is a notion of sexual exposure, pregnancy must be ruled out. even with a single sexual intercourse within the fertile period, pregnancy is very possible.
do a home pregnancy test with urine. if positive, then its pregnancy. if negative be patient a little more and if after about 3months it doesnt come see a gynecologist.
if you have more query, let me know.
best regards
Dr Achuo
