What Causes Delayed Periods?

My chart says I was the ovulate on the 21st of February and I still haven t started my period. My boyfriend has had a vacestomy, 99% effective. I had a negative blood and urine tests 2 weeks ago. And my doctor wants to put me on provera. Makes my period 14 days late. I took two more urine tests this morning just in case before I started the provera and one read positive and one is negative... so I m still not convinced I m not pregnant. What would you have advised me in my situation? The provera or wait and see or any other options?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If you have delayed periods, and one test is positive, I think we should not ignore the positive test. It's quite possible that you may have a pregnancy. Let's be on very safe side and wait a few days and repeat the test.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Mahboob Ur Rahman , General & Family Physician
